A letter from the Rabun County Music Festival Association
Dear SJO,
On behalf of the Rabun County Music Festival I want to thank you for the exciting concert performance of the Sentimental Journey Orchestra. The "Big Band" sound was never more professionally done with vocalists, arrangements, and upbeat selections all merging to create the best "Big Band" around. We Had rave reviews from our audience with encouragement tp "bring them back". Sentimental Journey Orchestra brings back the swing, jazz, and toe tapping sounds we all love,
The concert on July 23rd (2006) was a highlight of our season. We highly recommend Sentimental Journey Orchestra to all who enjoy the big band era.
Sincerely,
Barbara Kobacker

Ladies and Gentlemen:
I wanted to pass along some of the comments about your performance last Saturday night at the historic Langdale Theater.
They range from outstanding to best ever and many in between, all very complimentary.
I enjoyed working with all of you. The music was wonderful and the vocals were superb. I now can understand why my friend Phil Harrison in Atlanta was so glad to recommend your group.
I am still receiving favorable comments today and we hope to invite you back again. In the meantime, if anyone in the promotion business needs a recommendation, please ask them to give me a call.
Good luck to you all and thanks again for an evening of good music, good times and good memories.
Sincerely,
Bill Gilbert
Dear SJO,
You may recall I'm the person who originally contacted you about the possibility of the Sentimental Journey Orchestra playing at Langdale Historic Theatre as part of its on-going series of musical presentations. I put you in contact with Bill Gilbert and, as they say, the rest is history, because the performance that took place yesterday was truly a sensation!
I've been a big band lover for years and not only have attended most of the 42 concerts held at Langdale Theatre, but for years now have gotten together a regular group of out-of-town attendees (dubbed as the Langdale Concert Gang) and we regularly bring a dozen to two dozen down to the Valley - first for "supper" at some nearby location and then we have a block of seats at the concerts.
I review all this simply to say our gang's response to Sentimental Journey topped any reaction we've ever had and all have been positive, I must say. Talking with an estactic Bill Gilbert afterward, I certainly didn't have to encourage him to re-book your band - he was already convinced from the overwhelming reaction of the crowd - as it seemed your band members were too.
Please pass along to every one associated with your fine organization our sincere appreciation for a most enjoyable evening! I am proud to have had a modest part in making this beneficial connection!
Regards,
Phil Harrison,

Wedding Testimonials
“We engaged the SJO to play at our daughter’s wedding and were thrilled with the results! Our crowd was diverse in terms of age, race and background and the SJO was a unanimous highlight of the evening. Seeing the players in their matching white jackets, attractive bandstands and gleaming instruments was truly a phenomenal sight. Their sound was strong and tight----my daughter’s peers were shocked that the music and sound of their grandparents could be so much fun to dance to. The band was very cooperative in putting together a custom playlist for our crowd and were very open to others sitting in for a couple of numbers---even a singing bride!
The truth is, our friends and family are trying to find another occasion when we can hire the SJO---even though we are out of daughters to marry away!”

Hello!
The SJO made our May wedding the classy event we were shooting for. We couldn't have been more pleased with their performance. All of our guests were "wowed" by the band, and talked about them for weeks after our wedding! The band learned "Pick Up the Pieces" for our cake cutting, and they were fantastic. Henry Mason is very easy to work with, and I would recommend the SJO in a heartbeat.

I do hope we'll have the chance to work together in the future!

The SJO,
I wanted to take this opportunity to share the thanks of Kelly & Mike and add my personal thanks for making her wedding reception such an incredible experience. I could not begin to count how many people told me what a fantastic band you were! Even now, I'm still getting such glowing reports. As I mentioned to you in person, there were several musicians in the audience, so their praises were the proverbial "icing on the cake"! Your selections, your stage presence, and beautiful playing (and singing) were truly a three-hour treat!
I also wanted to again thank you for allowing me the opportunity to play my surprise "Funny Valentine" sax solo. You were correct when you said Kelly appreciated that "more than I would know". She has already mentioned it several times since! It showed off your flexibility which was evident with the cake-cutting, toasts, and other usual reception activities. You were truly the perfect band for us.
Please feel free to give my name and number to anyone seeking a band for any occasion, but especially a wedding reception. Your musical appeal to all ages is a forte'. Why anyone would hire a 'disc jockey' when you are available, is beyond me. Thank you again for the entire experience before and during the performance.
Sincerely,
Bill Cartus
